If an individual chooses to pursue adult‑oriented content, some argue that it would be more responsible to do so within regulated spaces rather than on mainstream platforms where children can easily be exposed to it. This situation has led to renewed public debate about whether Zimbabwe’s existing cyber and digital‑safety laws are being effectively enforced, and whether stronger measures are needed to protect minors from inappropriate online material.
